A Little Bit About Lady Gaga
Of course that’s here stage name; her real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. Now that’s a mouthful. So where did the name come from? Well, Stefani drew a lot of her inspiration from the glam-rock performers like David Bowie and Queen. One of Lady’s early producers, Rob Fusari, used to sing the Queen song “Radio Ga Ga” whenever he saw her. However, one day when he text her using Radio Ga Ga, the spell check on his PDA auto-corrected the phrase to “Lady Ga Ga”, and she said “That’s it”!
Lady Gaga was born in New York on March 28, 1986. She started playing piano around the age of four-years old, and started performing for “open-mike nights” by the time she was fourteen-years old.
Lady originally signed with Streamline Records, and while there, Akon became aware of Lady’s talents and forged a deal to work with her on his lable “Kon Live Distribution.”
Lady Gaga’s first album came out in August of 2008, and it was a smash in the United Kingdom, Austria, Germany and Canada, reaching the number one position in all. In the United States the album reached the Number 2 spot on Billboard’s Top 200 charts, but it was on top of Billboaard’s “Dance-Electronic Albums” chart. Her first album included the hits “Poker Face” and “Just Dance”, and since then Lady Gaga has blazed a trail on pop charts around the world, winning numerous awards and recognitions.
